Third PROSEU Project Meeting
01 Apr, 2019Representatives of the 11 partners of PROSEU will gather for the third time in person on 1-3 April 2019 in Rotterdam – hosted by DRIFT.
What is the role of citizens in producing and distributing their own renewable energy? How can this so-called prosumerism help building a more sustainable future? The PROSEU (PROSumers for the Energy Union: Mainstreaming active participation of citizens in the energy transition) project aims to understand what incentive structures will enable the mainstreaming of renewable energy prosumerism in the European Energy Union, while safeguarding citizen participation, inclusiveness and transparency.
When the third project meeting takes place, held on April 1-3 in Rotterdam, the first results of the project will have been published and several Living labs will have started their work with prosumer initiatives.
Representatives of the PROSEU-partners (Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes; University of Porto, ICLEI, Clientearth, University of Leeds, University of Zagreb, Leuphana University, Eco-Union, Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung , DRIFT and CE) will discuss how to go ahead with the implementation of the project, with the overall aim of putting citizens at the heart of the energy transition.
The meeting will be followed by a pressure cooker on Social innovation in the energy transition, where knowledge will be exchanged with other scholars.
