Triple E Series – Lecture #1: Sustainability Transitions from a Multi-Actor Perspective

23 Apr, 2019

The Institute of Environmental Sciences Leiden and the Centre for Sustainability organize a monthly cross-disciplinary lecture series. DRIFT’s Flor Avelino is invited for the first lecture to offer insight on shifting power dynamics between actors in processes of transformative change.

Ecology, Energy and Environment are three of the major themes of our time which encompass the key challenges regarding our planet’s future. Particularly those regarding natural resources, climate change and environmental degradation. The Institute of Environmental Sciences Leiden in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainability organizes a monthly cross-disciplinary lecture series where globally renowned and inspiring thinkers and scientists are invited to address these three pillars of science.

Lecture #1: Sustainability Transitions from a Multi-Actor Perspective
The first lecture of the Triple E Lecture Series will be about sustainable transitions from a multi-actor perspective. Transitions towards sustainability require both technological and social innovation, and the engagement of multiple actors and institutions. In this talk, DRIFT’s Dr. Flor Avelino will reflect on the shifting power dynamics between government, business and civil society in processes of transformative change.

The lecture will take place on Tuesday April 23 from 16.00 until 17:00 at the Aula of the van Steenis building in Leiden (Einsteinweg 2, 2333CC).

All Triple E events are free of charge, but registration is required! You can register for the first lecture via this form. Are you curious about the other lectures? Visit the website of the Centre for Sustainability to learn more about the complete program of the series.
