Urban Arena: a podcast about sustainable and just cities

 
Urban Arena is a podcast series full of critical conversations with activists, entrepreneurs, intellectuals and policy-makers in different European cities who are working to create cities that respond to the twin challenges of justice and sustainability.

About the podcast
Cities can play a crucial role in creating just and sustainable futures. UrbanA (Urban Arenas for Sustainable and Just Cities) takes up the challenge of synthesizing and brokering the knowledge and experience generated in EU-funded projects that deal with interventions tackling urban social inequalities and exclusion.
 
The Urban Arenas will be co-creative spaces designed to generate convincing, specific, and actionable solutions towards sustainable cities that foster deep forms of democracy and citizen empowerment. Over the coming three years, a series of four Urban Arenas will bring together policymakers, researchers, engaged citizens and others – collectively known as city-makers – from across Europe to discuss innovative solutions for sustainable and just cities. The goal of the events is to synthesize and broker knowledge generated by prior research and innovation projects; translate this knowledge into action; empower participants to apply this knowledge locally; facilitate interaction among diverse people; and influence policies in favour of sustainable and just cities. The podcasts are part of this.
